Living Together Gatherings (LTGs) combine pre-event Programming with the popular “Open Space” method for Program Development.  This means that, in addition to program items submitted prior to the Gathering, others can be raised and time-tabled in on the morning of each day.  “Open Space” also means that multiple items can run simultaneously - with participants moving freely about.

Ka’alele Au” - Workshop
“After speaking with my Teacher, The Kahuna Training Guild and the Australian college of Kahuna Sciences, we may be ready to offer a workshop of Ka’alele Au (flying technique). This technique is very basique in our Kahuna bodywork training .   [Morning Classes - 1 1/2 hours]

SETTING UP SPACES

THE BIG DOME:  Arrangements are underway (thanks again to Dudley) to get the Big Dome - that Living Together Network commissioned a few years ago - over to Byron, from its keepers at the Border Ranges Community of Yalanga.  Sundance, Jacquelina, Dudley, William Pike, Kate Skitt and Hielrick have offered to help set it up.  Probably on Wednesday the 9th or Thursday the 10th - stay tuned and join in on this great community
experience.

Sahaj Dumpleton, equipped with an array of power tools, offers his services and expertise all day Thursday.  Hurray!

TIPIS:  Jacquelina offers her tipi; she, Dudley and Hielrick are seeking out others.  Hielrick will help harvest and prepare bamboo poles.

WELCOME / INFO CENTRE:  Structure yet to be determined.  Katharina will set up Info Displays, contact sheets, etc.

COMMUNITY KITCHEN:  Jacquelina offers her caravan and will see if Living Together can borrow the Mullumbimby Community Garden catering equipment - table/s, urn, barbeque, etc  William Pike and Irena Kirpichnikova will investigate the availability of various industrial fridges.   Katharina offers a single basin sink, requiring mounting.

CARPETS:  Katharina offers a number of carpets.

EARTH ALTAR: Stephanie Medew will set up an Earth Altar as a place of offering for all.

DECORATING THE SPACE

The Rainbow Peace Archway:  Katharina offers this beautiful archway - originally made for the first Byron Peace Carnival.

Rainbow Peace Flags:  Byron Shire Council, the current Keepers of the Byron Rainbow Peace Flags, is providing 24 Flags for the Gathering (Organised by Dudley)

Bamboo Art:  Gabi Bohnet and Jacquellina offer their skills in building bamboo entrance structures — Join In!  All Day Thursday

HELP WITH FOOD and REFRESHMENTS

Hurray!  The Gathering has a Head Chef!  YES!!!  Homer, a Brazilian/French traveller who is currently working as a Chef near Byron Bay offers his skills “as a contribution for this event”.  Homer knows “many cheaps recipes that can be made in big quantity, tasty, convivial and easy to make” … having used these “recipes in France tekno parties called FreeParty”.  Yay!

Gathering Food: William is seeking food donations from Farmers Market Stall-holders and Fundamental Foods; Jacqelina will do the Pick Up on Thursday December 10th; Dudley is approaching John Dolman (manager of Santos) for food donatios and Katharina will approach David at Brunz Health Foods; Kate offers assistance also

Gathering COOKING POTS:  Hielrick has tracked down the Rainbow Pots (at the Rainbow Temple); Baba Guy will loan them to LTN for the Gathering;  Katharina offers her community cache of plates, bowls, cups and cuttlery

CO-ORDINATING A SPACE or ACTIVITY

Mandala offers to co-ordinate KIDS ACTIVITIES    Hurray!!!

DOCUMENTATION

Filming: Sahaj Dumpleton will video the gathering for archive and future promotion and information.  Katharina offers her film camera for use as well; seeking a volunteer to run it, etc

Photography: Chris James offers his services, using his own digi-cam to “capture the soul of the Gathering”.  Also, Hielrick Georges Danon will take photos.

PROMOTION

Posters:  Zjael has made the initial Poster for the upcoming Gathering; Dudley, Zjael, Ricardo Johansson and others have helped with dissemination.

As the November 25th meeting attendees appreciated the attractiveness and clarity of the initial poster, it was generally felt that it lacked the vibrant earthiness necessary to convey the Gathering’s key drives for realising sustainability and local resilience.  Taking all feedback into consideration (and as Zjael is currently consumed by another project), Rob Clark, assisted by Hielrick, has designed a revised Poster.

Dissemination of Posters:  Volunteers - Kate, Penelope, Dudley

BAY FM:  Interviews:  Dudley has organised an interview for himself and Jacquelina on Friday the 11; Katharina has organised an interview with Ros on Wednesday the 9th between 11am and 12noon, Dudley has sent Community Notices to BayFM

Newspapers: Dudley has sent Press Releases and Community Notices to the Echo and Byron Shire News

Email Send-outs: Dudley Leggett produced and initiated the first few email send-outs - and feedback is THE WORD IS SPREADING!

TEAM members will send out the final two email notices via their e-networks

Banners and Sign Making:  Katharina has made a large banner to display at Belongil Fields and a Sign to display on the way in to Byron.

Byron Sunday Market: The Will of the People Project is making a splash and simultaneously promoting the upcoming LTG.  Sahaj will be there with a portable PA and guitar and voice

Involving Intentional Communities:  Penelope is networking on this.
ELECTRONICS

Screen Projection: Narada Das will provide a screen, screen projector and computer with mobile internet connection on one of the days.  John of EcoMart Northern Rivers will provide the data projector for part of the other weekend day.

PA:  Dudley is negotiating use with Dharma and  Andrew Mignot

Power Cords, etc:  Dudley has some and is also approaching Council for loan of equipment.
