INTRODUCTION

LTN endorses the CHARTER of the GLOBAL GREENS - defining what it means to be Green in the new millennium. (Well worth checking out!)

In contrast to the highly detailed, all-inclusive and meticulous analysis and directives (Well Done! Bravo!) of the Global Greens’ Charter, LTN’S Charter zooms out to view the big picture. In its Charter, LTN attempts to provide a coherent overview of the unfolding, vast and intricate grassroots transition to a sustainable, just and peaceful world.

In short, LTN’s Charter proposes and highlights the significant steps by which we might mark humanity’s progress to a better world.

[Please note that LTN’s work focuses upon the REGIONAL level upwards. LTN endorses and is highly enthusiastic about TRANSITION INITIATIVES - a fast-spreading global movement that focuses upon change at the most immediate grassroots level - the community and environs in walking / bicycling distance.]

CHARTER of the LIVING TOGETHER NETWORK

The Living Together Network exists to support ~ through its active participation, its Strategy and its Network ~ a progressive world scenario as follows:

Region by region, local communities come together in the interests of realizing greater self-sufficiency, political empowerment, sustainability of life-style and limitless wellbeing.

Unity, shared vision and collective resolve empower the grassroots movement.

Region by region, communities respond positively to the times, taking up the challenge to ‘Be the Change We All Want to See’.

Regional Communities are re-instated as the rightful beneficiaries and the rightful stewards of their region’s wealth.

Cultural, economic and political relations link the (essentially autonomous) Regional Communities within Regional Clusters and the wider World Community. These relations are mutually equitable, beneficial and just.

The beauty, glory and Gift of Earth, humanity and the planetary web of life are celebrated and enjoyed by all.
